En se limitant en grande partie aux chanteuses, les historiens du jazz ont trop souvent négligé d’évaluer l’importance de la place des femmes instrumentistes. In devoting themselves mainly to the singers among the ladies of jazz, the genre’s historians too often neglected to evaluate the importance of women who were instrumentalists. It’s necessary to take a longer look at the work of these pioneering women who paved the way for the wonderful musicians of today.
