Stéphane Grappelli est un musicien majeur dans l’histoire de la musique. Il est impossible que son nom s’efface de la mémoire collective. Je lui portais une grande tendresse et une immense admiration.
 J’étais, comme il m’appelait toujours, son « Petit Fils ». Il était un peu comme le grand-père que je n’avais plus. Cet enregistrement est une façon de nous rassembler, musiciens et amis qui l’aimions tant, pour raviver son souvenir.

Enregistré en 2008 pour célébrer le centenaire de la naissance de Stéphane Grappelli, Didier Lockwood réunit parmi la fine fleur du jazz français un formidable aréopage de musiciens.
 Tous ces artistes, de Martial Solal à Romane, viennent dédicacer de leur art leurs impressions et souvenirs du violoniste qui marqua de son archet tout un pan de l’histoire de la musique jusqu’à sa disparition en 1997.
Un disque où tous les jazz se confondent rendant hommage à tout l’univers Grappelli.
Un CD bonus accompagne l’album et propose des vidéos et interviews qui mettent formidablement en exergue l’enthousiasme et la passion qui ont parcouru la réalisation de cet album.

Stéphane Grappelli is a major musician in the history of music. It’s impossible for his name to disappear from our collective memory. When he recorded this album in 2008 to celebrate Stéphane Grappelli’s centennial year, Didier Lockwood put together a fantastic band comprising the cream of French jazz. Every one of these musicians, from Martial Solal to Romane, dedicated his artistry to impressions and memories of the violinist whose bow marked a whole era in jazz before his passing in 1997. And the result is a CD where all forms of jazz blend together in a great tribute to Grappelli and his universe. This homage is accompanied by a bonus CD with videos and interviews highlighting the wonderful enthusiasm and passion that went into the making of this album.
