Figure tant tutélaire que légendaire Fapy Lafertin est un grand guitariste de jazz. Son New Quartet, regroupe ici la fine fleur de la jeune garde du « jazz à cordes » belge, Alexandre Tripodi et Renaud Dardenne (Les violons de Bruxelles) et Cédric Raymond (Tcha Limberger, Toots Thielemans,…). Le registre de l’album dérive entre jazz manouche, l’une des expressions les plus vivaces du swing continental européen, et le choro et le fado, ces musiques luso-brésiliennes aux mélodies atlantiques emplies de romantisme et de sensibilité.
