Depuis longtemps considéré comme le pendant brésilien du jazz, le choro est une musique populaire instrumentale d’une rare sensibilité. Il conjugue à la fois finesse, profondeur mélodique et rondeur latine. Avec « Café du Brésil » Paris Gadjo Club, groupe de swing de la scène parisienne, propose la subtile fusion de ces deux esthétiques. Comme si Django Reinhardt et Jacob do Bandolim, deux virtuoses incandescents des musiques instrumentales du XXe siècle et figures iconiques mondiales, se retrouvaient. Ici tout se fait avec brio et naturel, tant la passerelle entre les deux genres est évidente. Un pont musical entre Paris et Rio, deux villes de culture et d’art de vivre, deux villes qui se regardent et s’admirent.

Long considered the Brazilian counterpart of jazz, the choro is a popular form of instrumental music that shows a rare sensitivity in combining nesse and melodic depth with a fullness that is totally Latin. With their “Café du Brésil”, the Paris Gadjo Club, the Parisian scene swing group, o ffers a subtle fusion of the two styles. The result sounds as if Django Reinhardt and Jacob do Bandolim— two icons, both incandescent virtuosos of 20th century instrumental music—were playing in the same room. Here the group bridges the genres with a brio that makes it all sound so natural: a musical bridge between Paris and Rio, two strongholds of culture and art de vivre, two cities that contemplate each other in admiration.
